Comments from guests at Ardoch Cottage

JANUARY

“First day, we woke up and everything was covered with snow. Magic! Then our hearts melted as the snow did, day after day. We relished the food in the Applecross Inn while the horizon, full of Skye and Outer Hebrides, cast a spell upon us. ’Tis hard to leave, but we hope to be back soon”.

FEBRUARY

Thank you. A welcome retreat – we now feel sane. Stunning weather and views…and the most scenic table tennis we’ve ever played!”

MARCH

“ We have had a good time, and we had lots of good weather. The fish from the fish man was very nice. The cottage was very cosy. Thank you so much for lending us all those TVs – the boys enjoyed the rugby”

APRIL

“The cottage is the perfect base for exploring this fabulous area…for sandy beaches, head north. Cycling and walking in abundance – we barely touched the surface…we’ll be back.

P. S. In a week when Scotland had it’s wettest April week since records began, we had one afternoon of drizzle and clouds…and sunshine thereafter”

MAY

Third visit –  great time – good weather!”

JUNE

“Good time had by all. Lovely location, lovely cottage and we all had a comfortable stay. Weather was really good…people were very friendly. We have never seen such lovely scenery…hope to come back one day. Thanks for letting us stay.”

JULY

“Ben, Loch, Glen, Fish, Midge, Kishorn, Prawns, Trout, Tossing, Putting, Flinging, Cuillin, Skye, Raspberries, Heather, Foxgloves, Cards, Train, Boat, Island, Gulls, lots of walks and stalks. Packed it in…had a great time. Big thanks. A very comfortable cottage – lovely to come back to after an elemental day”

AUGUST

“A wonderful holiday, enjoyed by all. Unfortunately it has passed too quickly. We have really felt at home here in this lovely cottage, and the children have enjoyed the freedom to cycle up and down to the playground, and visit the beach on their own. The weather has been very kind to us, and we have had some wonderful days out”.

SEPTEMBER

“ We have had a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday. A month went by so quickly. The cottage is so spacious and comfortable that days of bad weather are almost welcome so that one had a good excuse to stay indoors and enjoy it. Everyone in our family agrees that this is one of the nicest vacations we have ever had (and the fish were excellent and much appreciated, too”).

OCTOBER

Another excellent break…enjoyable walks, wonderful scenery, mixed weather but beautiful sunshine most days. The highlights were…watching 3 otters (that hadn’t a clue we had sneaked up on them) play, fish and fight…and watching 30 to 40 seals sun bathe and jump…lovely well equipped and warm cottage. Thank you”.

NOVEMBER

“ A wonderful 5 days. Cottage and setting are truly marvellous! You can’t improve on perfection…”

DECEMBER

“Very relaxing week…the cottage is like a home from home. Thanks for the Christmas tree! Hope to come back in the summer. Snow on Christmas day made the holiday extra special”.

Comments from guests at Gracie's Cottage

JANUARY

“A much needed break from work – you’ve made the cottage beautiful, and so toasty when the snow, rain, gales etc. are blowing outside! Amongst other birds, we loved the red breasted mergansers, goldcrests and bullfinches”.

FEBRUARY

“We have had the most wonderful time here at Gracie’s Cottage. The weather has been great, and this tiny village is bursting with character! The cottage is beautifully decorated, capturing the warm and welcoming cottage feel. It is incredibly comfortable, with all the mod-cons needed and some great extras too!

The views are amazing…and the walks around here fantastic. Thank you so much for the time and effort you have put into this cottage”.

MARCH

“We arrived in the dark, and imagine my surprise to wake the next morning – my first view was the snow-capped ‘Bealach na Ba’. I thought I’d died and gone to Heaven.

This feeling stayed the entire week. The cottage was perfect, the local folks so friendly…even the weather cooperated. If it were my choice, I’d never go home”.

APRIL

“Beautiful, cosy, for our Honeymoon…it was a dream”.

MAY

“Can honestly say this was the most homely and best located house we’ve ever stayed in. Hope the next visitors enjoy themselves as much as we did”.

JUNE

“A comfortable, cosy cottage. Peaceful surroundings. Breathtaking scenery. Many places visited…crammed so much into the week. Everyone so friendly. A lovely holiday – thank you one and all”.

JULY

“A very, very beautiful and superb cottage. We had very good weather all the week. For sure we’ll be back”.

AUGUST

“Far from the madding crowds. We thoroughly enjoyed our (far too short) stay in this delightful home, in these beautiful surroundings. Hopefully we can come back in the near future”.

SEPTEMBER

“Beautiful, peaceful and homely are the words that spring to mind. Most enjoyable stay, everyone very helpful and welcoming. Shall recommend to some people (not too many though, or we won’t get a booking!). Thank you for your welcome – much appreciated. (The Honeymoon Couple)”.

OCTOBER

“Fantastic holiday, peaceful and relaxing – just what we needed. Lucky with the weather – and to see seals, otters, deer and eagles”.

NOVEMBER

“Gracie’s Cottage delivered all our expectations, and more! We’ve had a fantastic time soaking in the scenery and wildlife. We’ll be back!”.

DECEMBER
